The Minneapolis office is seeking an experienced tax professional to join our Tax, Trusts & Estates practice group. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with the preparation of complex estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns, as well as aspects of probate estate and trust administration, including trust accountings. This position will require being on-site in our Minneapolis office four days a week, with the option for a hybrid schedule one day a week.

In this role, you will:

- Team with attorneys in all phases of administering complex estates and trusts, including, but not limited to, preparation of Court documents, accountings and plans of distribution.
- Compile and analyze tax information; identify issues and resolutions; and prepare tax planning models and projections.
- Prepare complex estate planning projections.
- Prepare tax returns (fiduciary, estate, gift and GST, individual and related entities); respond to tax notices and correspondence; prepare amended returns and assist with audit process.
- Engage directly with clients.
- May be requested to perform other duties not listed above.

What we're looking for:

- Bachelor's degree or completion of a paralegal program; CPAs, Masters in Tax and Enrolled Agents will also be considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in a law firm, financial institution, family office, or accounting firm setting working in tax compliance or as a trusts and estates paralegal.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the estate and trust administration process from the initial client conference to final distribution and closing.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of all phases of tax compliance relating to estate, gift, generation-skipping, fiduciary income and individual income tax returns.
- Working knowledge of the estate planning process.
- Ability to assist clients to meet probate and trust administration and tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to adjust to changing project priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Analytical ability, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to accept responsibility to work both individually and collaboratively with a wide variety of clients, including high net worth individuals, and have demonstrated excellent judgment and very strong client service skills.
