Point of Care Supervisor- Laboratory

Job Overview: The Point of Care Supervisor maintains Quality Standards for Point of Care testing in accordance with state, federal CLIA 88, JCAHO and CAP requirements throughout the New Brunswick Campus.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Education: BA/BS Degree in Medical Technology and /or related science.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years clinical laboratory and Blood Bank experience.

Preferred:

• National certification preferable.

• Full Time
• Salaried

Essential Functions:

• Serves as technical consultant to help troubleshoot POC testing and computer issues,
• Assist staff in POC testing and assures staff maintain annual competency,
• Performs spot checks to ensure sites are meeting POC regulatory requirements such as dating reagents and discarding expired testing supplies,
• Manages supply chain for POC testing supplies in POC software,
• Maintains POC testing equipment and instruments Maintains organized records of training, competency, and technical issues,
• Remains up to date on POC regulations, manufacturer s instructions, and best practices,
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with patient care team and staff,
• Supports and or leads improvement projects to optimize quality and efficiency,
• May include other duties as assigned,
