Overview A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Petra Popovics in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The successful candidate will lead projects exploring transcriptome/proteome/lipidome of the prostate in mouse models of inflammation and hyperplasia as well as in human specimens and will perform chemical, biological, molecular biological, surgical or other laboratory tests and procedures in support of these projects. Highly motivated, hard-working, and technically skilled applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as microscopes, centrifuge, agitators, chemical balance scales, spectrophotometer, thermocycler, colorimeter and other equipment.
Qualifications PhD or MD degree in biomedical sciences or related field. Prior experience in the following techniques is will be prioritized: tissue culture, western blotting, PCR, immunohistochemistry, imaging, immunoassays, mouse handling and surgical techniques. Experience at least in some of the following techniques is preferred: RNA-seq, mass spectrometry and bioinformatic analysis tools. Location : Location US-VA-Norfolk |
