Summary of Job Duties:The Vice Chancellor is responsible for certificate programs and associate degrees that provide for the workforce needs of the regions and the state including customized training in business & industry; healthcare; workforce development programs, professional/career training programs; and small business/entrepreneurial development programs. The Vice Chancellor is a member of the Chancellor's cabinet and works with the team to determine vision, strategy, short and long range goals, operating budgets, capital plans and effective governance policies. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for marketing, enrollment, budget, data management and analysis, and assisting in the design and development of new programs to meet the workforce needs of the region and the state. The Vice Chancellor works closely with staff to achieve the goals of the division in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the university.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Aligns workforce and training programs with academic, industry and public sector needs and licensing agency requirements.
*Plays a key role in developing effective partnerships with public schools, businesses, and industries in the identification of training needs, including conducting quantitative and qualitative training needs assessments, and development of customized workforce solutions.
*Provides leadership in course and programmatic design, instructional delivery and assessment activities, conducting research and analysis to evaluate viability of new and existing credit and non-credit programs.
*Advises business and industry partners, agencies, community organizations on grant options to support prospective and incumbent workforce skills improvement.
*Provides overall leadership for the workforce training team. Such duties include supervising, leading and coaching the workforce training team and providing progress reports to the Chancellor and the Senior Leadership Team.
*Provides management oversight of all noncredit curriculum planning, program development and implementation, and program review, supervision and leadership to staff.
*Provides leadership in strategic planning for the division, budget development, and the creation and assessment of institutional effectiveness measures in all assigned areas.
*Helps identify and secure appropriate institutional resources to support professional development of workforce development faculty and staff.
*Serves as the institutional liaison to a variety of economic and workforce training agencies. Qualifications:
  • Senior experience in the administration of a college or university, or related public education agencies, including a record of academic/professional accomplishment and of increasingly complex administrative responsibility in the professional field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and a commitment to career, professional, and technical education; and workforce and community education as key components of economic and workforce development.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work successfully and form collaborative partnerships with colleagues and with faculty and staff in the shared governance tradition of the institution.
  • The ability to think strategically, build consensus, and engage faculty, staff, and administration in collegial and constructive decision-making to enhance student life and learning for both traditional and non-traditional students.
  • The ability to be an effective institutional advocate to a broad range of constituents and to work effectively with local, state, and national leaders and policymakers.
  • The ability to lead an advancement effort in grant writing, raising funds and building friends for the future of the institution, with an enthusiasm for fundraising and the willingness to make it a priority.
  • The ability to create personal engagement on campus with students and student life and active involvement in the social and economic life of the community.
  • A record of involvement and a commitment to work collaboratively with educational partnerships, business leaders and the community to carry out the mission of the institution.
  • Degree qualifications: doctorate preferred, master's with exceptional experience.
