Position Highlights:
  • Position: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Research) (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist highly desired, but not required)
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time, Onsite Mon-Fri
  • Hours: standard business hours

What you will do:

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy for study volunteers with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, overweight/obesity, and other cardiometabolic conditions within study protocol requirements.
  • Provide diabetes self-management education, including device training and blood glucose or continuous glucose monitor report review for weight loss and diabetes trial protocols
  • Monitor participants' adherence to nutritional guidelines and track their progress throughout the study.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and research team in study volunteer care.
  • Contribute to the development of nutrition-related study materials such as meal plans and educational resources if needed for the protocols.
  • Data entry and documentation through Epic, REDCap, or Electronic Data Capture when necessary
  • Assist team in the planning, coordination, and execution of clinical trials and research studies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards governing human subjects research.
  • Track and maintain accurate records of nutrition-related participant data, study visits, and follow-up information.
  • Coordinate with study teams to schedule study visits other protocol-specified activities.
  • If not familiar already, this training will be provided for:
  • Instruct study subjects on insulin pumps, pattern management, glucometers, and continuous read out sensors.
  • Recruitment of subjects to clinical trials

What you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or similar area required
  • CDCES highly desired, but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary medical team
  • Computer skills
  • Writing skills
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in state of Illinois or eligible for Licensure in the state of Illinois
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years previous experience preferred
