Job Description:

Central Sterile Processing Tech

• Thorough knowledge of decontamination of instruments, equipment, and patient reusables.
• Preparation of instrumentation and patient reusables
• Knowledge of packaging items for sterilization properly.
• Maintains and updates instrument set item lists.
• Knowledge of materials which can be steamed vs. sterrad vs. high level disinfection
• Thorough understanding of event related sterilization
• Knowledge of the sterilization process
• Maintains adequate levels of items required for departmental inventory
• Performs other jobs assigned by management

• All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of Sterile processing experience preferred
• Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certification from IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred.
