Your Job

INVISTA Research & Development is looking for an Environmental, Health, & Safety Coordinator to join our team at our new Texas Technology Center in Katy, Texas.

In this role, you will utilize the Lab Safety Management for environmental, health and safety knowledge to assist in building and improving EHS initiatives and programs that facilitate the research and development of new and existing technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with technicians, engineers and scientists to design safe systems and internalize the Safety Vision
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC)
  • Improve systems that manage complex, changing environments and supply information to our workers
  • Ensure compliance with all issued permits and regulations including TSCA R&D exemption are met
  • Develop and execute the Chemical Hygiene Plan according to OSHA Laboratory Standard CFR 1910. 1450.
  • Conduct and review safety audits, process hazard assessments, and hazardous waste inspections
  • Guide and participate in company safety meetings, activities, and inspections
  • Act as a liaison to all team members to help with employee issues or concerns
  • Assist with managing site risks including facilitating risk assessments, job safety analyses, and PPE assessments
  • Aid incident investigations, root cause analysis, and determining corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence
  • Partner with leadership to develop short and long-term EHS objectives
  • Foster an EHS environment of collaboration and active participation with all employees
  • Work with the facility support team on site security, fire protection, and general facility needs

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • EHS experience working in a research, lab, or industrial environment
  • Experience innovating, improving, leading, owning, or developing EHS initiatives or programs

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Safety, Environmental, or Industrial Hygiene
  • Experience with Hazardous Materials shipments
  • Lab Safety Manual (LSM) experience
  • Experience managing Precursor Chemical / Laboratory Apparatus program (PCLA) glassware and reporting for state compliance
