Georgia-Pacific has an immediate need for a self-motivated and knowledgeable Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician at our Wheatfield, IN facility.

Compensation

This position pays $40.11 - $41.64 per hour depending on experience.

Position Schedule

  • Position is days but subject to going on rotating shift to support plant needs.
  • Based upon additional business needs must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed

What You Will Do

  • E&I Technicians are required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair various electrical and electronic equipment ranging in voltages from 24 VDC to 15 KV to make them more reliable.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Install new electrical equipment, update drawings, job plans, and bills of materials.
  • Utilize maintenance system for work order management including documenting activities as to actual work done, parts used, etc.
  • Assist in improving PM procedures and processes by providing feedback, making recommendations to improve the PM process and participating in procedure audits and reviews etc.
  • Create and modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for electrical and control equipment or tasks.
  • Troubleshooting, calibrating, replacing, and installing electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Support other maintenance activities including millwright tasks as required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Three (3) years of electrical and/or instrumentation experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC's (programing not a requirement).
  • Experience working with variable frequency drives.
  • Experience in working with and troubleshooting electrical systems that use up to 480V, 3 Phase.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical/instrumentation equipment.
  • Experience installing and maintaining equipment with adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC).

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Five (5) years or more of industrial experience in the electrical and instrumentation field.
  • Two (2) year degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic or Industrial Technology.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience working with variable frequency drives and servo drives. (Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, or GPD a plus)
  • Experience working with pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with systems integration i.e.: PLC, HMI, Instrumentation, Networking, Communication setup and commissioning. (Allen Bradley or CTI PLC experience is a plus)
  • Experience reading technical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience with power distribution systems.
