Serve as the facility's Health and Safety Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety related regulatory requirements and how they impact other aspects of the business. Communicate with all levels of the facility to create, explain, execute, and influence policies, practices, or approaches. Obtain direction from leadership within RENK and execute upon the initiatives of RENK Group and RENK America. Establish the short-term and long-term measurable health and safety goals for the organization in coordination with facility Senior Management and RENK leadership.
Essential Functions:
Evaluate/monitor production and engineering development operations to ensure compliance with local, State, Federal and Corporate, health and safety requirements. Measure the continued effectivity of programs on a routine basis through internal audits, industrial hygiene monitoring, and other Health and Safety-related tools.
Serve as the primary liaison for MIOSHA regulatory inspections from regulatory agencies.
Provide HSE training to site employees
Focus on continuous improvement of Health and Safety programs in processes, systems, or products.
Provide Health and Safety-related input into new products, new processes, process changes, facility changes, and capital expenditures. Develop and implement Health and Safety practices and instructions in support of operational changes.
Manage workload, including projects, with minimal oversight or direction.
Communicate within and outside of the organization, including with customers or vendors. Influence others to accept individual or team's views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches. Communicates with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area. May conduct briefings with leaders.
Advise site leadership on MIOSHA compliance requirements and/or health and safety initiatives.
Site contact for corrective action activities, communicate effectively between site leadership, Corporate Health and Safety
Perform backup duties for environmental reporting when necessary.
Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field and a minimum of 4-6 years of prior relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to communicate technical and regulatory requirements to audiences with various levels of understanding and education.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to employees throughout the Company within area of expertise.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
