Summary of Job Duties:The CED Student Intern - General Business will provide business and program support to enhance and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Center for Economic Development. In addition, this position provides
setup assistance and coordination for all classrooms/collaboration spaces as necessary. The position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Economic & Workforce Development. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Applicants should be Junior or Senior level students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position: Ability to work well with diverse populations including students, faculty, administration, alumni, community, and business leaders

  • Ability to exercise a strong command of grammar - both written and spoken
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to juggle multiple tasks and respond rapidly to new events and competing priorities
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment or at times, independently
  • Excellence in all MS Office Applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

General Business and Program Support

  • Conduct market research: Assist with gathering and analyzing data on market trends, customer behaviors, and competitor activity.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns: Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns, such as social media advertising, email marketing, or direct mail.
  • Assist with content creation: Help with creating marketing materials, such as blog posts, videos, or infographics.
  • Attend team meetings: Attend meetings to learn about current projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct data analysis: Help with analyzing marketing data to track campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop reports: Create reports and presentations to summarize research findings and campaign results.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions: Contribute to brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new marketing campaigns or research projects.

Event Setup and Facilitation

  • Identify event requirements and expectations and liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
  • Provide setup assistance and coordination for all classrooms/collaborations spaces as necessary
  • Provides signage for all events at the Center for Economic Development
  • Setup tables, chairs, and computer/technology equipment as needed
  • Coordinate setup, facilitation, streaming, and/or recording of events
  • Assess an event's overall success and submit findings

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork. Requires consistent on-time attendance
