Job Description Summary

Provide technical support for plant maintenance activities. Develop and Execute Maintenance plan to ensure safe operation of plant and equipment is kept in compliance.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the PLC system
  • Maintaining Instruments - repair, calibration and necessary documentation.
  • Assist and Lead all check-outs and routine maintenance of Instrument Control Loops.
  • Lead all troubleshooting and repairs of electrical equipment within plant that fall under 480V.
  • Monitoring and coordinating inventory levels and specifications of spare parts
  • Active participation in the site safety management program
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a robust Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Repair equipment as necessary and provide maintenance support when available.
  • Perform temporary repairs and modifications to equipment - (e.g. piping repairs, rotating equipment, MOCs, etc.).
  • Adhere to PSM Standards as it relates to required PM programs, inspections, and documentation.
  • Support Contract maintenance team and utilize other Technicians as required for routine repair and maintenance activities.
  • Provide assistance with equipment performance troubleshooting as requested/required.
  • Complete standard work each day and edit and improve standard work processes as opportunities arise.
  • Actively identify and work to eliminate waste in plant processes, procedures and normal work activities.

In accordance with the company's Quality Policy, responsible for and authorized to perform following actions as applicable:

  • Support achieving plant Quality Objectives and other KPI goals as applicable
  • Initiate action to report and prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of non-conforming product until the deficiencies or unsatisfactory condition have been corrected.
  • Use the Corrective and Preventative Action program and Internal Audit process to initiate, recommend and resolve product issues or quality system failures.

Additional Job Description

Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent. Trade school or college related degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of Maintenance experience in the chemical industry.

Special Requirements and Independency: Experience with Process Safety Management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking or standing most of the day, with some sitting. Frequently bends/stoops, squats, crawls, reaches above shoulder, kneels, and balances. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs frequently throughout the day. Must be able to carry/lift up to 50 pounds. The hands and fingers are frequently used for pushing/pulling, simple and firm grasping. Occasionally for fine manipulation. Employee must occasionally use the head and neck in a static position, and for rotational, flexing and extension movements. Must be able to evacuate unassisted in an emergency. Must be able to wear a respirator.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Employee's activities occur both inside and outside. There is exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and loud noise. Gases, dusts, odors, fumes and mists associated with normal chemical plant operation may be present. In production areas, employee must wear company-supplied protective equipment such as a uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, gloves, slicker and boots.
