Journeyman Carpenter

The Construction Site Supervisor leads construction activities on a daily basis under the supervision of the Lead Carpenter/Construction Site Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibility include but not limited to: -

Assist the Construction department with ordering and arranging for delivery or pickup of building materials to the appropriate construction sites.
Responsible for on-site coordination of materials, labor, and inspections with construction stages to facilitate the construction and/or revitalization project.
Responsible for safety compliance with all groups, vendors, volunteers, staff and subcontractors.
Responsible for conducting daily safety inspections and safety instruction to volunteers and staff.
Manage, coordinate, and work with Habitat volunteers on different work site locations as needed.
Work on home repairs. Remodeling and accessibility modifications adhering to local construction standards.
Supervise partner families on Habitat work site locations.
Provide exceptional customer service to homeowners while working on their homes.
Commute to various Habitat work site locations as necessary.
Manage and report daily progress through Construction Management software (training will be provided).
All other duties as assigned by the Lead Carpenter/Construction Site Manager.

Requirements:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in home repairs, painting, and/or general construction.
Must attend and pass "Competent Person" Training with Habitat for Humanity International within 6 months of hire.
Must have a clean driving record that passes HFHSCNJ's insurance guidelines.
Must be willing and able to operate small to medium sized commercial vehicles.
Must be comfortable with heights and working on ladders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of home repair, construction techniques, and home maintenance
Carpentry experience preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA, BPI, and EPA standards and practices.
Exemplify a positive and respectful work attitude, including the ability to work professionally with Volunteers and Staff.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50-pounds.

Compensation - $21.65 - $24 per hour
