Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing an ERP implementation project from start to end. The position works directly with the Program Management Office (PMO), other project managers, business, technical and third-party partners project leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Responsibilities include general facilitation, scope definition, timeline creation, project execution, tracking & reporting, issue escalation/resolution. Additional responsibilities include evaluating opportunities, resource management, and alignment to the overall program roadmap.

An ideal candidate for the Senior Project Manager is someone who possesses strong project planning and project management skills, could work with diverse groups of people from within various departments and levels of the organization. Job will at times require occasional travel.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages project team or work streams.
  • Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables, project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains integrated project timeline.
  • Defines, tracks and communicates project milestones progress ensuring all tasks have names, dates and dependencies per agreed scope, timelines, budget, and as organization's quality standards.
  • Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle, diligently managing scope to ensure commitments are achieved within time, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Facilitates execution through cross functional team members and follows-up accordingly.
  • Manage and lead Project Manager Coordinator direct report and assigned to the project.
  • Develops metrics to track milestones and tasks status and completion on time, alert risk, and request for mitigation plans. Creates reports used in steering committees by senior leadership teams.
  • Helps to escalate and resolve all issues related to the project in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a liaison between leadership and other functions as necessary.
  • Supports initiation, development and implementation of strategic projects involving new technology and/or multi-plant coordination.
  • Proper use of project artifacts in partnership with business team leaders, and responsible for representing the project in program governance forums.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu.
  • Minimum of 7 years combined project/project management, finance, strategic planning, operations, and/or business development experience.
  • Has working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, cost, timeline, and resources necessary in deploying technology solutions.
  • Experience with SAP ERP implementation is required.
  • Knowledge of technical requirements for ERP implementations including test and production environments set up, system defect resolution process and business intelligence reporting tools (Power BI).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Background in Consumer Goods preferred.

  • Prior experience with organizational change management.
  • Ability to manage effectively, directly and indirectly, in a team-oriented environment, lead and influence without authority.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently at times to complete tasks efficiently, timely and accurately.
  • Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive & dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Curious and willing to learn new things.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill levels in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Project, Visio.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Positive, "Whatever it takes" attitude.
  • Able to travel on occasion (less than 25%) internationally and domestically to perform assigned duties.
