About the job:

To be successful in this role, you must have minimum of 1 years of experience in a Quality Technician role, preferably in a citrus or aroma chemical industry. You will need to demonstrate attention to detail, customer focus, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

As the QC Lab Technician you be responsible for:

  • Performing chemical, physical, and organoleptic analysis of citrus samples based on written procedures to include daily verification of the equipment and minor maintenance on test equipment as needed.
  • Performing all common (routine and non-routine) chemical, physical and instrumental analyzes on quality and service analysis for samples coming from supply chain areas, to contribute to the resolution of complaints and production problems respectively.
  • This includes but is not limited to loading samples on a GC, testing for Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Optical Rotation, Color Scoring, Wet Aldehydes, Non-Volatile Residues.
  • Perform Data entry into various databases, reporting results and tracking (Oracle). Ensure timely approval of materials supporting the Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Other activities as assigned by the QC Manager/Supervisor or lead. Must have a strong knowledge of basic math, science, and quality terminology with the ability to perform measurement conversions. Must be able to use a computer and have knowledge of data base tools such as Microsoft access and Excel, etc. Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, science or a similar degree is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, fluent in English (additional languages preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively solve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Vision (including color vision), hearing and smelling are essential functions of the position.
