Position Description The Manufacturing Engineer - Launch is an analytical person and problem solver located at the manufacturing facility leading new product and changed product launch activities. In this role, one can expect to be on the factory floor daily interfacing with production leadership, production associates, and the maintenance team implementing product design changes with without unplanned disruption to production. The Buena Vista, VA manufacturing plant is the heating product plant. Products serve the residential, commercial, industrial and education markets. We are a growing manufacturing site located in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of central Virginia, looking to develop and grow our team of customer-focused problem solvers. Key Responsibilities New and changed product launch activities including, critical thought about how the manufacturing process will change, equipment, planning and process development. Facilitate change request activities with effective communication interfacing with the shop floor, material planning, product engineering, purchasing, marketing, product management and other affected parties. Plan and participate in trial builds providing enhancement ideas to product engineering. Keep Manufacturing Engineering Manager informed of the status of assigned projects. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial Systems or Mechanical Engineering) 5+ years of engineering experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills High attention to detail and organizational skills Familiarity with CAD is a plus Experience working in product launch is helpful High mechanical aptitude preferred Modine is an equal opportunity employer.
