Gundersen Health System is looking to add a dedicated and organized Purchasing Assistant to our team in West Salem, Wisconsin to support our Pharmacy team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of medications across our regional locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing activities for multiple regional locations ensuring timely delivery of medications and supplies

  • Monitor inventory levels

  • Coordinate with regional teams to address any purchasing or supply chain issues or delays

  • Adhere to all relevant pharmacy regulations and compliance standards

What's Available:

  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm can flex day to day depending on business needs. There would not be a need to work overnights or weekends.

  • Location: Must be within driving distance to our location in West Salem, WI

  • Starting pay of $20.79/hr. + more for experience!

Job Description:

The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Manager, Sr. Buyers and Category Managers to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.

2. Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.

3. Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.

4. Supports the Sr Buyers to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.

5. Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.

6. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

7. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalency

DESIRED

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or two-year or higher education in related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

2 years or more experience in supply chain or related field

DESIRED

6 months or more experience in Lawson/Infor software
