Overview Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Counsel - Training & Special Projects. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) with consideration given for 100% remote US locations. The Objective: As Risk & Compliance Counsel - Training & Special Projects, you will have senior in-house counsel responsibility for providing legal support to the NB&C Director and the NB&C function firm-wide, as well as the Office of General Counsel. You will assist with the successful training and professional development of the NB&C department's approximately 30 analysts and attorneys, as well as relevant firm-wide conflicts training. What will I do? The Risk & Compliance Counsel - Training & Special Projects will support the Director in the administration of a department that delivers prompt and accurate evaluation and resolution of potential conflicts of interest, new business intake, and lateral attorney conflicts clearance and onboarding. You will collaborate with key Firm departments and members of Firm leadership to execute on the Firm's new business and conflicts strategy. How will I spend my time? You will spend most of your time on these responsibilities: Responsibilities NB&C and Firmwide Training
Oversee training of NB&C staff including managers, intake analysts, lateral analysts, and Risk & Compliance Counsel (RCC) to ensure that resources, trainings, and systems are aligned with the Firm's goals and objectives, including an emphasis on fostering a team-oriented environment focused on the highest level of client service.

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.
