Responsibilities

At Syntrinsic, the Lead Consultant forges relationships primarily with foundation and endowment clients, earning their business and then serving as the lead relationship manager and advisor. A successful Lead Consultant at Syntrinsic effectively serves as:

Relationship Manager



  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients' board members, committee members, and senior staff.
  • Become a strategic partner to the client by getting to know their needs, risk, and aspirations and establishing the trust and credibility necessary to be a valued partner.
  • Regularly meet with clients to review economic data and performance reports while addressing client concerns and educational needs.


Portfolio Constructor



  • Leverage Syntrinsic's research team to identify appropriate asset allocation strategies and third-party asset managers for each client portfolio.
  • Facilitate effective client decision-making whether client is non-discretionary, fully discretionary, or somewhere between the two.
  • Maintain and articulate a thorough understanding and timely awareness of investment matters such as, portfolio development, asset allocation theory, and geopolitical, economic, and behavioral events and their impact on investment portfolios and the markets.


Client Team Leader



  • Coordinate the tools, experience, and skills of Syntrinsic colleagues to ensure that the overall client experience is productive and that any concerns are dealt with promptly.
  • Collaborate with Consulting and Research teams to ensure that Syntrinsic clients receive a consistent experience delivered in a bespoke personalized manner.


Business Development



  • Represent Syntrinsic in the broader community through client events, networking, and civic engagement.
  • Cultivate relationships, create proposals, and effectively prepare for and participate in interviews with prospective clients.



Required Qualifications

Candidates should have at least 10 years' experience advising institutional clients and must be a registered Investment Advisor Representative or equivalent (e.g., CFA Charter holder).

If not already registered, Lead Consultants are expected to pass the Series 65 or other qualifying certification in the first 90 days of employment.

Salary Range
$200,000 $220,000 USD
