Oceaneering International Inc. Oceaneering Technologies (OII-OTECH) supports the US Navy's submarine rescue mission through the Submarine Rescue Operations and Maintenance Contract (SROMC). Oceaneering partners with the Navy's Undersea Rescue Command (URC) to provide 24/7 world-wide submarine rescue capability to US, allied and other foreign navy requests to assist disabled submarines (DISSUB) or submersible intervention and rescue. OII-OTECH is seeking an Mechanical Technician who will execute mechanical/hydraulic maintenance and repair work on all submarine rescue assets and supporting equipment. The Mechanical Technician will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, field installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems. Work primarily occurs at URC in San Diego and will require travel to various locations in the US, at sea and abroad. Base pay rate for this position is $30.00 to $35.00 Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL * Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting SROMC obligations. ADDITIONAL * Forklift, material handling, weight handling, rigging and crane operations. Qualifications
REQUIRED * High school diploma or equivalent. DESIRED * Experience with Deep Submergence Systems - Scope of Certification (DSS-SOC) is considered a plus. Additional Information
WORKING CONDITIONS This position is considered OFFICE and FIELD which is characterized as follows. * Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions (50%).
