Position Summary

Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and creative strategies for clients of the NYU Office of Marketing Communications by leveraging research-driven, analytical, and strategic thinking skills to positively impact organizational KPIs. Act as a strategic brand consultant and editor for people and units within NYU who want to better align their marketing and communications with the NYU brand in pursuit of reputational enhancement and meeting recruitment goals. Develop content and content strategy in partnership with NYU clients and other Marketing and Communications team units and maintain editorial standards to ensure the NYU voice is portrayed accurately. Write, edit, and fact-check publications, including digital and print advertising, magazines, viewbooks, web copy, and promotional materials, as needed to broaden the University's recruitment efforts of prospective and current students. Manage the movement of projects through the strategy process as well as between Marketing Communications teams. Initiate and maintain relationships with key contacts across the University.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Or advanced degree

Required Experience:
3+ years professional copyediting and research experience, preferably in a book or magazine publishing or academic environment.

Preferred Experience:
Additional training or experience in book or magazine publishing, advertising, or marketing. Experience copyediting, and researching for publications and advertisements in a medium- to large- sized nonprofit organization.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent command of grammar and spelling. Excellent copyediting, proofreading, research, and time- management skills. Ability to prioritize work and effectively complete multiple assignments and adhere to deadlines. Strong organizational skills and detail orientation. Knowledge of MS Word in a Mac environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience using Microsoft Word in a Mac environment and Google Workspace. Ability and desire to learn new applications and software, specifically InCopy/K4, Hive, Divvy, and WordPress.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
