Overview

E2 is looking for a Distribution Field Technician to join our team in our greater Hawaii area to support several major electric utility clients. The successful candidate will travel at least 80% of the time and will gather information in the field for use in detailed designs of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems. This work includes the preparation of field notes, uploading field information gathered and updating field tracking. The position will be under the direction of the Team Lead and will report directly to the Department Manager.



Responsibilities

    Conduct field walks from pole to pole to complete field engineering, taking clear pictures of all angles of poles, carrying Hastings stick and being able to use it to accurately measure communication heights.
  • Travel to commissioned worksites and survey utility structures to complete assigned projects.
  • Locate, field, and document detailed information of all aspects of the poles on the assigned route.
  • Measure attachment heights, structures dimensions and span distances.
  • Perform field data collection utilizing approved collection materials to include laptop/iPad, GPS, and other electronic devices as necessary.
  • Direct interaction with landowners and/or agencies, to gain access to distribution facilities for field data collection.
  • Prepare and submit field collected data and correspondence.
  • Assist in the gathering of information from field notes.
  • Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying, and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
  • Utilize client and company information systems to track and update fielding activities.
  • Follow Code of Safe Practices as outlined in the company safety policies.
  • Self-check all work and the work of others as assigned.


Qualifications

  • A High School diploma is required.
  • 0-3 years of experience fielding distribution pole replacements.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Basic analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Pay rate for this position is $25/hr - $30/hr. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
