Summary:

In this senior leadership role, you will have oversight of all aspects of cloud computing, networking, and infrastructure that support our software development teams. This role will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the technological backbone of our organization. This includes driving innovation, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning infrastructure capabilities with our business objectives. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals. This includes designing scalable, reliable, and high-performance cloud architecture, evaluating emerging cloud technologies, leading cloud migration initiatives, and optimizing existing deployments.

  • Oversee and manage multi-platform cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Ensure scalability to meet growing business demands, implement infrastructure-as-code for consistent deployments, and optimize resource allocation and utilization to enhance efficiency.

  • Manage WAN, LAN, and cloud interconnections and ensure network security, performance, and reliability.

  • Implement software-defined networking (SDN) solutions and oversee network monitoring and troubleshooting processes.

  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies and best practices by implementing robust identity and access management (IAM) and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.

  • Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments and manage data encryption strategies.

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, collaborate with development teams on deployment optimization, and integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

  • Foster an organizational culture that creates an environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement.

  • Recruit and mentor cloud, network, and infrastructure experts, while also setting clear goals and performance metrics and promoting continuous learning and improvement.

  • Manage cloud service provider and technology vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), as well as evaluating and selecting new infrastructure tools and technologies.

  • Monitor and optimize cloud spending and implement FinOps practices, which focus on proficiently managing the infrastructure budget.

  • Provide expertise in disaster recovery and business continuity to develop, implement, and test recovery plans, establish robust backup and failover systems, and minimize downtime and data loss.

  • Implement a robust infrastructure monitoring system, including defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level objectives (SLOs), conducting routine performance evaluations, and actively identifying and resolving any potential issues.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. A master's degree is desired.

  • 10 or more years of experience required in cloud operations and infrastructure management.

  • Strong technical expertise in multiple cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is required.

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and industry standards relevant to cloud security, operations, and data center management.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.

  • Experienced in effectively managing vendor relationships.

  • Experienced in budgeting, implementing FinOps practices, and utilizing financial tools to effectively manage budgets and make informed and efficient decisions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $328,600.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
