Your Impact

The Business Process Engineering team is a fundamental function to support new product launches and continuously look for process improvement in existing products and processes to assess and enhance inefficiencies in the business. As part of the broader Business Controls team, the Process Engineering role serves as an integral part of Marcus' first line of defense to ensure process-level inefficiencies and risks are evaluated to drive cost benefits and risk mitigation.

What you can expect in a Business Process Engineering Associate role:



  • Proactively identify potential business risks, process deficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain the process and controls environment (inventory and maps) for deposits operations
  • Design process solutions using continuous improvement principles
  • Continuously assess and identify opportunities to improve all functional processes
  • Collaborate with the Business to refine and maintain their Business Process Inventories
  • Perform assessments to define different process KPIs / KRIs
  • Lead and deliver executive reporting and other data-driven deliverables, with a focus on providing appropriate content, context, and structure in a precise and timely manner
  • Collaboratively create a robust process, risk, and controls environment to ensure the highest standards of consumer protection
  • Maintain current and target operating models to drive process efficiencies and risk control
  • Establish and maintain a change management framework
  • Obtain necessary change advisory board approvals
  • Assess the impact of change across the business and ensures production readiness


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years experience with consumer banking and financial services
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and designing business processes or workflows
  • Experience with process engineering to develop, identify and implement efficiency opportunities from end to end
  • Understanding of Business Process Continuity methodologies and basic requirements
  • Analytical mindset with ability to leverage statistical analysis and/or generation of basic KPIs
  • Comfortable presenting to large stakeholder groups and driving meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
  • Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal partners with different levels of product experience
  • Knowledge of standard processing engineering tools (e.g., Signavio, Visio, Other process management tools)
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and take ownership of various parts of an initiative while still following proper chain of command, and effectively working in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements


Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a financial operations or engineering field
  • Expertise in Business Process workflow tooling/design
  • Knowledge of Process Mining tools and experience analyzing data from tools to translate into process improvements
  • Knowledge of process risk components, specifically regulatory and/or operational risk
  • Six Sigma and Lean Certification
  • Strong Process Assessment Framework knowledge and experience performing process assessments covering technical and system integrated processes
  • Experience working with Process Automation, RPA and Machine Learning
  • Experience designing relational databases
