Job Title: Quality Technician I
Schedule:
3rd Shift 10pm - 6am Sun - Thursday
This position is responsible for auditing production parts and processes to ensure compliance to quality standards and quality system conformance, performs verification of gage first pieces, provides quality support for production operators, supervisors, and quality engineers, and assists in establishing containment and providing initial response on customer concerns.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Quality Assurance Audits
- Double check of 1st pieces (created by setters / operators)
- Check of parts currently running
- Ensure OCRs / PLEX Check sheets are completed correctly
- Verify SPC charts, gage sheets, etc. are completed correctly
- Verify Quality Alerts are being followed at the processes
Gages/Gage Study:
- Ensure gage calibration is up to date (notify lab if not)
- Ensure gage function - minor repairs, replace indicators, tips, batteries, retractor devices, etc. Notify Quality Lab or QE of major repairs needed (broken details, missing details, etc.)
- Collect gage study / capability study data / review completeness and accuracy for special requests and PPAPs
- Participate in Gage R&R activities
Assist with Problem Solving for Quality Problems:
- Check gage fit for fit or fail. In case of failure:
- Check the fixture
- Check the components - initiate CMM layout or check in component gage
- Check prints and specifications
- Supervise Containment Activities on Assigned Shift
Ensure inspectors have needed information and tools and are performing inspections correctly for:
- Safe Launch
- 3rd party sorts
- Off-line sorts
- Supplier sorts
Monitor e-mail for customer complaints (CCs), Assist with Containment and Initial Response:
- Issue Quality Alert, sort sheet, and placard
- Train personnel on assigned shift
- Pass down to next shift
- Collect sort results
Required Skills:
Must have basic knowledge and use of E-mail, Excel, Word, Internet Must become proficient in PLEX, Gage Software, other software as needed - Training will be provided for PLEX, Gage Software, and other needed software
Physical Demands and Additional Considerations:
- Must be able to lift 15 - 20 pounds occasionally.
- Must have flexibility to shift start and end times if needed.
- Must be able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
