Sales Professional - Roofing Adhesives and Sealants

Territory - MN, Western WI, NE, ND & SD

Ideal candidate will be based in Mpls or St Paul, MN

H.B. Fuller Construction Adhesives provides technologically advanced solutions to the commercial, industrial and residential construction industry. The company's recognized and trusted brands are available through an extensive network of distributors and dealers, as well as home improvement retailers.

The Sales Professional - Roofing Adhesives and Sealants owns a territory and takes initiative to fix challenges within area of responsibility. Proven ability in trouble shooting, running demos, training of customers and sales force, identifying new trends, being proactive in suggesting new products to fill product range gaps, helping to launch new products and services, managing key OEMS/AEMs and manage the conversation of business with customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain and grow own territory and accountable for delivering results.

  • Effectively creates and use of a Territory plan as well as customer budget and goal setting.

  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs and provide solutions and opportunities.

  • Creates advantage through deep understanding of customer needs and accelerates sales process by selecting the right opportunities.

  • Negotiate complex situations within and outside the organization.

  • Consistently applies sales process and use of all sales tools(SFDC)

  • Develop sales funnel for future growth opportunities, and accountable for both growth and erosion prevention metrics.

  • Knowledgeable on company, customer, and competitive supply chains; with medium complexity is able to help optimize customer value chain models.

  • Plan a key role in innovation, both in identifying opportunities in the market and communicating them into the H.B. Fuller organization and working with strategic firms and engineers that can specify H.B. Fuller branded products.

  • Managing distribution activities to support growth in the core business.

  • Identifying and developing relationships with key contractors

  • Creating a strong pull-through strategy with contractors to exceed sales and profit targets.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma and at 7 years of relevant work experience OR Associates/Technical degree and 5 years of relevant work experience OR bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or related area of study & at 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Possess a valid driver's license and willing to travel 30-50%

  • Ability to work on roofs at heights.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in technical sales or technical background.

  • Ability to understand various business scenarios and cope with them effectively.

  • Good team player who is flexible, open-minded, organized, and tenacious

  • Experience with PC skills with Microsoft Windows applications

  • Skilled verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working within the roofing industry.

  • Understanding of Technical Specifications and construction engineering

  • Customer related technical work or similar.

  • Understanding of "value selling" techniques and how to quantify value.

  • Leadership potential and desire for more responsibility

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible to participate in the sales incentive plan..
