Position Summary

The test automation internship is an opportunity that introduces aspiring test automation engineers to create and maintain automated tests for our applications.
Interns are primarily exposed to tools related to test automation and SAP/Oracle ERP applications to run automation scripts. The internship is a good opportunity to learn firsthand how test automations are created and managed to enhance business productivity.

Working alongside mentors, interns create and run test automation scripts in ERP systems such as SAP & Oracle Application. Interns will also work with analysts to understand the test case and business process. To be effective, interns must have a general understanding of test automation and concepts, as well as solid practical hands-on experience with computers.

Essential Job Duties

? Follow and execute directives issued by senior employees.
? Create automated tests for various layers of the application
? Continuous improvement and updating of existing tests
? Creating technical documentation related to tests
? Collaboration with developers and functional analysts to automate test cases
? Support day-to-day activities performed by the test automation team.
? Work with senior members of the team & vendor to gain knowledge of the tool and progress toward independence after proving competence.
? Monitor dashboards, tool health, and metrics with escalation to members of the team.
? Attain proven proficiency with test automation tools and perform front-end troubleshooting and general triage.
? Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

? Successful completion of undergraduate coursework (or reputable trade program) in information technology.
? Fundamental knowledge of test automation principles and best practices.
? Knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., TOSCA, Selenium)
? Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
? Experience working with databases (e.g., SQL)
? General knowledge and hands-on coursework (lab) experience with test automation scripting.
? Basic exposure to one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, VBScript) preferred.

Additional Qualifications

? Proven trustworthiness and history of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively.
? Solid written and verbal communication skills.
? Capable of working with diverse teams.
? Organized and punctual.
? Confident, but humble and willing to learn and take initiative.
? Recommendations from previous instructors and internship sponsors.

Education Requirements

? Working toward completion of undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field preferred.

Experience Requirements

? Undergraduate hands-on and general knowledge coursework in information technology.
? Demonstrated hands-on lab experience in analysis, scripting and documentation.
? Ability to speak to software projects completed during education and training.

Certification Requirements

? None expected, but certificates obtained during coursework are a plus.

Starting pay is $23 - $26 per hour but may be adjusted base on qualifications and experiences.
