Job Description

This position is based out of a Skyworks Solutions, Inc. office with a preference for Irvine, California

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a talented lawyer with commercial and transactional experience to join the Skyworks legal team. This position will report to the Director and Senior Corporate Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively as part of a small, fast-paced legal team, effectively managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. This position will provide critical business acumen and expertise in negotiating and drafting contracts across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and/or assist with a wide variety of transactional and commercial matters in support of Skyworks' business operations, with an emphasis on Skyworks' Sourcing operations, including, but not limited to the following:



  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including agreements with key suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop the commercial aspects of a comprehensive contract structure and contracting strategy for all major commodities
  • Partner with Sourcing team members to negotiate and draft contracts advantageous to Skyworks while minimizing exposure to risks
  • Advise senior management on commercial and transactional matters, providing proactive strategic advice and counsel to internal teams regarding business and legal issues and risks
  • Help implement and maintain policies and procedures for contract provisions to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate on the implementation of legal and enterprise level efficiencies
  • Operate within Skyworks' contract management system, using such system to facilitate Skyworks' internal approval and signature processes among other functions


Ability to travel domestically and internationally occasionally if needed to meet with legal team members and internal clients and to lead negotiations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience handling complex legal matters and negotiating contracts
  • Familiarity with procurement contracts, technology contracts, and NDAs
  • Experience advising and supporting corporate clients with complex transactional or commercial contracting, whether at a law firm or in-house
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and otherwise interact well with colleagues and management
  • Strong work ethic and ability to handle and advance multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • In-house experience at a global, public semiconductor or technology company is a plus
  • Procurement or supply-chain experience (in a legal or non-legal role) for a manufacturing company is a plus
  • Experience using or administering contract management systems is preferred
  • Highly skilled in standard office software (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proactive and creative problem solver able to successfully develop and implement new processes
  • Must be able to juggle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player, with a high attention to detail



Must Have Education and Licenses:



  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Member in good standing of the state's bar where working (or otherwise eligible to practice in such state as registered in-house counsel). Preference for State Bar of California admission.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$139,100 -$278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
