The Industrial Engineer I enhances factory productivity, cost reduction and product quality through the analysis and continued improvement of manufacturing routings, processes, equipment, and material flow. Act as a critical link between Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT to implement solutions and monitor outcomes to ensure successful results.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide technical support to engineering & manufacturing personnel to improve work flow systematically and physically along with troubleshooting problem areas.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of SAP functionality within the Production Planning (PP) and Variant Configuration (VC) modules to assist with root cause investigation of missing or incorrect information at the fabrication equipment or in assembly relating to the shop routings or material master data. Will assist in creating and maintaining manufactured and purchased material master data, routings, and work center configuration.

  • Write, revise and audit shop routings for new or redesigned products. Utilize if-then logic to establish master routings where possible to minimize ongoing maintenance. Conduct time studies and/or analyze system data to develop appropriate labor standards for new and existing products and processes.

  • Monitor routing operation confirmations to ensure labor credit is received.

  • Maintain work center configuration to allow order specific information to flow between systems and machines and Assist Engineering, Manufacturing and IT with automation initiatives and flow of information to and from the machines.

  • Develop an understanding of how material master data, BOMs, routings heavily influence manufacturing business processes. Write, revise and audit standard work documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.

  • Participate in best practice sharing events for labor tracking and reporting. May conduct and prepare labor and material cost estimates to track capacity projections for critical machines, work centers and departments.

  • Conduct and prepare labor and material cost estimates as required.

  • Participate in product redesign and value engineering team efforts to assure cost-effective, producible designs.

  • Assist with the lean cultural transformation by participating in GPS events.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT teams to assist in the definition of business process improvement requirements. Gather, document and implement business requirements as well as audit existing business processes to ensure procedures and best practices are being followed.

What you should have:

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required.

  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degreein engineering required.
