Department OverviewThe Motorola Federal Technical Center (FTC), located in Lanham, MD, is the most advanced and secure radio repair network support services center of its kind in the world. The FTC is dedicated to servicing U.S. Federal Government subscriber equipment and the state-of-the-art facility services two-way portables and mobile radios for conventional and trunked technologies. The FTC specializes in encrypted communications, and is both ISO 9001:2015 and Intrinsically-Safe registered via Underwriter's Laboratory quarterly inspections. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up, adjust and operate test equipment as directed or following a defined procedure

  • Monitor processes and collect & report process related data

  • Monitor equipment performance

  • Perform test runs and document machine performance

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose typical problems with processes and equipment under direction or following documented methods

  • Repair or take pro-active measures to prevent the diagnosed problem

  • Collect data and validate results

  • Utilize existing data collection consistently and accurately

  • Support network peripherals linked to Motorola Solutions' applications

  • Monitor AI/ML model usage and accuracy to predict initial material needed to repair subscribers and mobiles

  • Network support that pertains to routing IP's, preventative maintenance, cabling, ISP, security, ChromeCast

  • Support device LTE processes that include SIM/Carrier change

  • Provide feedback on PC enhancements/maintenance

  • Review reporting capabilities for automation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good communication skills verbal and written

  • Data collection and analysis

  • Working knowledge of Two-way radios and RF communications, computer/networking skills preferred

  • Advance PC operation skills and configuration, software platforms and operating systems (WIN 10, 11, MS DOS) are essential

  • Manage accurate and updated documentation, charts, and reports.

  • Advance knowledge of networking systems

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Associates Degree in IT, Computer InformationSystems, or Technology

  • Experience with Two-way radios required.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
