SEO Media Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The SEO Specialist at Charter supports the implementation of SEO strategies through focusing on keyword research, on-page and off-page optimizations, structured data, and technical SEO audits. This role involves optimizing content for Local SEO and GEO, assisting with competitive landscape analysis, and monitoring SEO performance across multiple sites and platforms. They provide detailed reports, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay updated on industry trends.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to support both on-page and off-page SEO, including Local SEO and GEO targeting.
  • Recommend and QA on-page SEO optimizations, such as meta tags, headings, and content enhancements.
  • Execute off-page SEO tactics, including managing Google My Business, optimizing the Knowledge Graph, and building links.
  • Recommend structured data markup to improve search engine understanding and visibility of website content.
  • Monitor and analyze SEO and SERP performance metrics, providing detailed reports and insights on the effectiveness of SEO initiatives, including structured data and competitive landscape efforts.
  • Assist the Creative team in optimizing content for SEO and GEO, ensuring alignment with broader SEO strategies, while collaborating to integrate SEO best practices into content development.
  • Perform technical SEO audits and resolve issues related to site performance, crawlability, and indexing.
  • Support competitive landscape analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and track SEO projects using a project management platform, ensuring timely completion and alignment with objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at one time
  • Ability to work well with people from all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems while working under pressure
  • Effective attention to detail balanced with the ability to think strategically
  • Effective Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Effective communication, analytical and writing skills are a must and candidate must be able to work well with others in department
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent computer, math skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset and a desire to explore options for improving effectiveness and quality of SEO/GEO tactics.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in related field of study, or equivalent experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Experience in front- and back-end search engine optimization with ownership over site performance - 2+
  • Experience with website analytics applications (Adobe Analytics preferred) and SEO tools such as Semrush, ScreamingFrog, Google Search Console. - 2+
  • Experience with data analysis, interpretation, presentation, and delivery - 2+

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of cable and broadcast television, internet and media products and services
  • Interest in television and/or media
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with local and business platforms such as Yext, Google My Business, Google Merchant Center

Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Media, agency, publisher, and client or television provider experience - 2-3
  • Business analytics and database experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment
  • Minimal travel (~10%) possible
