Primary Purpose and Essential Functions |

PSYCHOLOGY invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Lifespan Developmental Psychology to begin August 2025. The ideal candidate will have a record of excellent undergraduate teaching and will engage undergraduate students in a strong research program with a focus on any phase(s) of the lifespan. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology.
The successful candidate will teach courses within general education, including developmental psychology and the College's first-year seminar program, as well as advanced topics in developmental psychology, research methods, and upper-division lab courses within their area of expertise. Our faculty are dedicated teachers, mentors and advisors who develop innovative pedagogies to enhance student learning in addition to engaging actively in scholarship and service. We are excited to welcome new colleagues who are eager to be part of our vibrant academic community and to contribute to the College's growth and development.
Tenure-track faculty in the Psychology department teach a 2-2 semester course load and are expected to actively engage undergraduate students in their research, maintain a strong research program, and participate in the department and university community through service. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, have experience teaching a diverse population, and be able to integrate diversity into the curriculum.
The Department of Psychology consists of eight full-time faculty who provide coursework in theoretical and research foundations of psychology, with intensive student involvement in research and applied experiences. Psychology is one of the largest majors in the University, with close to 200 undergraduate majors and minors.

Minimum Qualifications |
- A doctorate by August 2025 in developmental psychology or a closely related field, evidence of scholarly productivity, and experience teaching at the college level as the instructor of record.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential in the following areas:
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in your teaching, research, mentorship, service, and/or practice
- Mentoring and supervising undergraduate student research and research assistants
- Scholarship and teaching practice that shows prospects of independence and persistence

Hiring Range |
$72,000-$74,000. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
