PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Construction Manager - Electrical and Instrumentation will play a crucial role in achieving this vision. This role involves overseeing all on-site construction functions, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. By managing personnel, budgets, and development plans, the Construction Manager will ensure seamless coordination between engineering and construction sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise all on-site personnel through subordinate leaders, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Budget Management: Oversee project indirect overhead budgets, develop fiscal plans, monitor performance, and provide periodic project updates to stakeholders.

Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between engineering and construction sites, ensuring constructability and effective construction planning during the engineering phase.

Construction Coordination: Manage and coordinate overall construction activities to maximize productivity, maintain project schedules, and develop contingency and recovery plans as necessary.

Equipment and Performance Monitoring: Monitor equipment performance and utilization and provide continuous improvement input and strategy development to enhance efficiency and quality.

Problem-Solving: Develop innovative solutions to complex problems, leveraging expertise in construction techniques and equipment.

Policy Compliance: Ensure all on-site functions comply with established policies, procedures, systems, and safety requirements. Develop new procedures as needed to improve project outcomes.

Safety Oversight: Ensure the safety of all supervised personnel by enforcing established safety policies and procedures and taking responsibility for providing a safe work environment.

Contractor Oversight: Provide oversight of General Contractor's Subcontractors, ensuring all work meets quality and compliance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL SET

Experience: Extensive experience as a Construction Manager within a construction organization, with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation projects.

Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Certification: Professional Engineering certification in a related discipline is preferred, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise in the field.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to manage documentation, budgets, and reports.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage budgets, and develop and implement strategic plans.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Safety Awareness: In-depth understanding of safety policies and procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
