POSITION SUMMARY
We are pleased to announce an opening for an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at PCOM South Georgia. This is a unique opportunity and ideal for recent PhD graduates, post-doctoral fellows, or PharmD candidates ready to take the next step in their professional journey.
PCOM South Georgia is seeking a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Pharmacology at the Assistant Professor level. PCOM is committed to preparing professionals for the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our dynamic team of educators. This role is particularly suited for early-career educators or recent graduates looking to grow professionally and contribute to the evolving field of healthcare education. Mentorship will be available from experienced, senior faculty members, offering ample support and guidance for professional development.
Faculty members develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career, and personal advising, and all faculty contribute to the PCOM's mission through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Educate medical students in pharmacology across a two-year preclinical curriculum.
*
Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.
*
Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
*
Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
*
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
*
PhD in Pharmacology (or related field) and/or PharmD
Experience
*
A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience is
required, preferably in a medical school, or a healthcare educational setting.
*
Proven experience in teaching pharmacology is required.
*
Experience in active learning is
preferred.
*
Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.
*
Open to non-traditional research.
