NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports to the Director, Internal Communications and OCM. Responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies, projects, and deliverables with a focus on maximizing employee engagement to help the company reach its strategic goals. Collaborates closely with the Chief People Officer, Human Resources and Learning & Development to drive the employment brand, reflect the company's values, and to support the company's focus on belonging, respect and inclusiveness. Provides consultation to internal business customers and prepares plans and timelines to support the people side of communications. This position also supports other internal communications projects as needed as part of a cohesive team committed to teamwork and shared successes.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in communications or a combination of internal communications, corporate communications, and/or marketing communications.
2. Previous experience in writing corporate people communications and/or HR Communications.
3. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization to develop and implement internal communications solutions.
4. Strong project management skills, with an ability to manage and execute multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
5. Successful experience working with senior management, including presenting ideas and concepts to internal business customers with a strategic and operational mindset.
6. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas effectively.
7. Competency with Microsoft Office 365 products with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Teams. Experience working with intranet technology.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail, specifically in grammar and proofreading.
9. Demonstrated ability to create compelling visual content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs.
10. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Designs and executes comprehensive internal communications plans and strategies from short-term tactics to long-term campaigns with an emphasis on maximizing employee engagement.
2. Works independently as well as collaboratively to develop and execute communication strategies in a fast-paced, cross functional environment.
3. Ensures internal communications reflect the company's values and contribute to advancing the organization's strategic plan.
4. Supports a culture of belonging, respect and inclusiveness through the creation of content and promotion of employee events focusing on understanding and engagement.
5. Collaborates directly with Human Resources and Learning & Development to promote the employment brand, find innovative ways to engage potential candidates and strengthen the connection of current associates to the organization's culture.
6. Maintains a strong understanding of organizational communication needs including structure and audience profiles to determine the appropriate channel, medium and distribution approach for communication.
7. Develops engaging content for a variety of communications channels including emails, corporate intranet, video, and print. Measures and assesses the effectiveness of internal communications' campaigns.
8. Manages communications review and approval process to meet communication standards and planned deadlines.
9. Stays current on trends and best practices to help inform new internal communications strategies.
10. Demonstrates a high knowledge and understanding of the organization's language and culture.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
