POSITION TYPE: Seasonal - Part Time/Full Time

PAY RANGE - $16.00 to $26.00 / hour

SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Grooming Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Groomer operates heavy construction equipment and/or snow grooming equipment with attachments. This person operates heavy equipment in an efficient manner on an as needed basis and grooms trails with the objective of providing an enjoyable skiing surface for guests. He/she knows capability of machinery and understands maintenance functions and gauges.

This position requires a pre-employment Drug Screen and any offer is conditional based on the MVR Driver Verification background check.

Applicants should be 18 years or older.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Pre-operation checkout and fueling of vehicle.
  • Perform basic grooming functions based on Grooming supervisor's directions
  • Perform required work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Secure work site nightly in a reasonably safe manner, (i.e. holes marked, equipment keys removed).
  • Groom/repair hazards encountered.
  • Inform Supervisor of scheduled jobs not completed.
  • Inform mechanics of necessary repairs and/or service needed.
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date logs on equipment used.
  • Maintain a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with guests, mechanics, and other employees.
  • Report and correct, if possible, unsafe conditions regarding equipment and area of work, or elsewhere on the area.
  • Housekeeping of assigned work/shop/equipment area.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education : High School diploma or GED

Experience : Previous snowmaker and trail crew experience preferred. Understanding the mechanics of snow movement and nomenclature of equipment is desirable.
License/Certifications - Driver's License - MVR Background Check is processed post job offer.
