JOB SUMMARY

The Rental -Demo Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of up to 20-25 staff. The new on-mountain location provides full-service Demo, Performance and Sport level rentals and return of rental equipment. This winter the way in which we operate will be very different. The position will need a strong business acumen to evaluate business needs and to prioritize work. To successfully manage your team, you will need a strong dedication to the guest experience, the staff, and the ability to drive the team's success through analytics and benchmarking. Continual use of KPI's to make business and staffing decisions is critical as well. The Rental Supervisor must be able to train team in all rental success activities to include fitting boots, selecting, and adjusting skis and snowboards, maintenance, paperwork, and inventory of all equipment.

The Rental Supervisor will be overseeing the daily operations and ongoing success of their Rental facility. They will ensure all daily operational duties are completed satisfactorily either personally or through subordinate staff. The Supervisor is responsible for generating revenues in their specific location through rentals and retail oversight. Rentals also oversees and works with the Repair shop and Ski and Bag Storage. The position may require you to work on weekends and holidays and must be able to work mornings and evenings throughout the ski season. The Supervisor must possess good written and oral communication skills, computer skills, a team player attitude, and reliable cash handling skills. They will be responsible for the daily opening and closing of location, staff management, daily and weekly reports, as well as merchandise inventory control. In addition, they will consistently follow all Crystal Mountain policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and safety protocols. As a Flex Year-round position, the Rental-Demo Supervisor would move into other operations in summer, or potentially newly developed summer activities as our Resort continues to grow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assign employees to specific duties, to ensure maximum efficiency and positive, memorable guest experience
  • Supervise employees in all daily duties to ensure utmost compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and goals
  • Deliver ongoing staff coaching and disciplinary action as needed
  • Work to identify and resolve staff problems as needed
  • Manage payroll and timekeeping for Employees with a focus on accuracy and controlling expenses
  • Ensure compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping procedures and practices
  • Ensure that staff is working in a positive, fun and energized work environment
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment
  • Ensure that store staff always maintains the highest level of guest service
  • Be able to perform all duties of a rental tech and cashier
  • Demonstrate expertise in product features and benefits of all products and retail items in the store
  • Complete a daily opening and/or closing checklist to ensure standards of cleanliness and organization at their highest level
  • Close rental location securely to verify the safety of all company assets and inventory
  • Adhere strictly to ASTM requirements and schedule
  • Account for all security issues involving cash, theft, liability and premises.
  • Receives ordered merchandise; checks it in against the requisition (packing slip), stocks items and places orders for product as needed
  • Reconciles product transfers and performs merchandise counts monthly to ensure internal controls and accurate accounting
  • Keeps the rental shop in neat and orderly fashion to meet the standards of the department
  • Serves the customer by answering numerous questions and gives the extra personal touch of customer service by assisting customer in purchasing appropriate products
  • Maintains a positive attitude in an eight to ten-hour day, and on stressful high-volume days, in order to provide excellent customer service
  • All other job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of management and/or supervisory experience in a high volume rental shop


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must be able to ski or walk to all locations
  • Computer proficiency in sysmanager and Microsoft programs
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift
  • Must be able to speak English, and enunciate clearly
  • Must speak/hear clearly over telephone
  • Accustomed to constant customer and staff contact


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation, both indoors and outdoors
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
  • Some basic mechanical and cash handling experience is desirable
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis
  • A positive attitude with strong guest services and communication skills a must
  • Abides by all Crystal Mountain employment guidelines
