POSITION TYPE: Seasonal- typically Nov-April WAGE RANGE: $15.00 to $17.00 / hour D.O.E. SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Ski and Ride Center Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Performs sales transactions for lessons, tickets and rentals. Includes cashiering, efficient organization of rental forms, knowledge of rental equipment and lesson programs, accurate and efficient data entry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS: Will maintain a friendly and outgoing attitude at all times. Will handle cash accurately and consistently. Assists guests in selecting the best product or package to fit their needs, fills out the appropriate paperwork and schedules lessons with instructors, takes money and makes change, directs guests, enters information into database, closes and balances tills. Will spend a moderate to high amount of time on the phone. Will become knowledgeable of Schweitzer Mountain. Daily filing and organization of materials. Will keep work area clean and presentable. Work environment can be hectic and stressful, and requires the ability to focus in spite of distractions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will complete paperwork for up to 8 hour per day; will stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours per day. Breaks and lunch available between busy times on a varying schedule. Will regularly lift up to 10 lbs and up to 50 lbs with assistance. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on an infrequent basis. Sensory skills of speech, vision, and hearing needed. Worksite is 95% inside and 5% outside. Hazards are eyestrain from computer, leg/foot strain from long periods of standing. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have or be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer's facilities and activities. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Moderate computer literacy: Word and Excel, email and Internet; excellent communication skills and assessment abilities. Accurate cash handling skills. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Multi-tasking ability and ability to self-start. EDUCATION: English reading, writing, communications, math and chart reading EXPERIENCE: Cashiering and front desk/sales experience preferred LICENSE NEEDED: None MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Computers/two way radio, office equipment, phones and tablets JUDGEMENT / MENTAL COMPLEXITY: High BENEFITS: see employee handbook REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once a season.
