Director Corporate Compensation

Henry Ford Health (HFH), a growing $12 billion healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Director of Corporate Compensation. Reporting to the Vice President of Total Rewards, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative compensation programs that align with our strategic objectives and healthcare industry dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:



  • Develop and execute compensation strategies that support HFH's operations and workforce needs
  • Establish long and short-range objectives for the compensation needs of the organization
  • Provide compensation expertise to support various organizational initiatives, including potential mergers and acquisitions1
  • Assist in compensation-related aspects of integration during organizational changes


Program Development and Management:



  • Design and implement competitive compensation programs tailored to the healthcare industry
  • Oversee executive compensation, including long-term and short-term incentive programs
  • Collaborate with Corporate Benefits/Retirement to develop comprehensive total rewards packages



Compliance and Governance:



  • Ensure legal compliance of all compensation programs across the organization
  • Prepare materials for the Compensation Sub-committee of the HFH Board of Trustees
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition, Corporate Legal Affairs, Compliance & Audit, and Diversity/AAEEO teams



Financial Planning and Analysis:



  • Partner with Corporate Budget to develop compensation budgets for all business entities
  • Provide market data, projections, and trends to support financial decision-making



Team Leadership:



  • Manage and develop the compensation team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Collaborate extensively with HR field operations and center of excellence


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compensation
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale organizational changes preferred
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compensation trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Professional certification such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) preferred
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to drive change and manage complex projects in a dynamic environment
