ABOUT THE JOB



  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees.
  • Ensure all employees are trained and follow all plant and safety, Food Safety, GMP, OSHA and sanitation regulations.
  • Will actively lead the Management Team and work closely with all members to develop best practices for the facility.
  • Will be an active member of the Food Safety Team, which includes staying up to date with food safety training.
  • Will be key member of the facility audit team.
  • Will promote and actively demonstrate continuous improvement within the facility using WPMS (Wis-Pak Performance Management System. Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in methods and processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale. Develop plans for the maximum utilization of materials, machines and personnel.
  • Will develop, justify, recommend, and implement a 5-year capital budget for the facility. Ensure capital projects are on time and within budgetary constraints. Analyze and report on variances of actual vs budget.
  • Will develop, justify, recommend, and implement an annual operating budget to control labor, manufacturing, and variance costs to achieve the standard total cost per case.
  • Deliver improvements to the 4 manufacturing levers: Yield, Line Efficiency, Labor Efficiency, and Spending.
  • Maintain high safety standards, conduct audits, enforce safety policies, and ensure PPE is used. Continuously improve our FIFI (Find-It, Fix-It Program).
  • Manage department personnel by assigning tasks and following up. Encourage and motivate the workforce. Coach for improvement when necessary.
  • Must prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments and directly oversee staff to ensure the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with company quality requirements and meeting customer delivery requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct meetings as needed and participate in facility meetings. Lead cross functional teams to address and resolve facility issues and improve quality and productivity. Establish a monthly Town Hall meeting to communicate current events with the plant team.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and/or seven total years of food manufacturing experience. Will have the proven ability to develop good problem-solving statements and use problem solving skills to close the gaps. Possess math, verbal, written communication, organizational, multi-tasking, time management and people skills. Will have computer skills including Microsoft Office, JD Edward, Sharepoint, and other business intelligence tools.
