Job Summary:
As a Tax Associate, Partnerships, you will develop your knowledge in partnership taxation through assisting in preparation of various partnership specific items including but not limited to 704(b) and taxable income allocations, 704(b) and Tax Capital Account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, and Tax Receivable Agreement calculations. In this role the Tax Associate, Partnerships will have the opportunity to utilize their educational background while working with more experienced team members who will provide direction and coaching related to a range of partnership taxation issues. As a team member, you will support BDO's clients both directly and through support of other BDO client service teams. Job Duties:
- Proactively assists in the execution of client engagements
- Ensures both that: (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual ("TQM")
- Effectively leverages firm technology and follows firm procedures
- Completes tasks and takes initiative on impending due dates
- Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective tax structures
- Monitors tax law and client factual developments on a regular basis, daily or weekly but at least bi-weekly
- Develops and communicates to client service team personnel, viewpoints regarding how those developments might affect clients
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required; OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification, required
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
Experience:
- Leadership experience, preferred
- Accounting based internship, preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exams; progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction; progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment, preferred

- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, required

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $62,000 - $75,000 Colorado Range: $62,000 - $75,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $62,000 - $75,000 Washington Range: $62,000 - $75,000
