Assistant Professor of Spanish IRC #####

TWU seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish to start the 2025/2026 academic year to contribute to a new major in Spanish Translation and Interpreting on the Denton campus. The ideal candidate will understand the needs of teaching first-generation heritage speakers, have the experience and/or desire to coordinate undergraduate Spanish curriculum using face-to-face and online synchronous delivery, collaborate well in an interdisciplinary environment, and demonstrate a commitment to professional development vis-a-vis an active research agenda with peer reviewed publications or a strong potential for them. PhD in hand required by September 1, 2025. Experience in teaching or developing coursework in interpretation and/or translation or workplace experience as a translator is helpful but not required. We are a small, vibrant faculty committed to excellent teaching, collegiality, collaboration, and innovation. The department will provide mentoring and support for professional development/travel.
