While reporting to the Operations Manager as the Color Retoucher, you will be responsible for visually modifying or making images fit for purpose for all print disciplines. Ensuring that appearance and brand consistency between the different print processes is maintained. What you'll be doing:
Color Retouching - Performs colour retouching for multiple print disciplines. Makes visual changes to images (cosmetic retouching). Retouches/corrects with special colours/Extended Colour Gamut, considering the impact of screen angles. Ensures images are fit for complex processes e.g. flexographic print Collaborates with multiple functions to service the client. Brand Guardianship - Ensures brand consistency is maintained throughout the full project range across all production locations. Project Management - Represents their discipline in the planning of projects. Continuous Improvement - Seeks ways to optimize process to improve quality and delivery. Promotes best practice and continuous improvement within the team. Leads and supports with production initiatives, especially relating to colour work. Participates in root cause and corrective action investigations. Participates in the introduction of technology changes from User Acceptance Testing to deployment. Coaching and Development - Guides and advises less experienced members of the artwork team. Identifies and discusses issues with relevant team members. Client Interaction - Guides and advises less experienced members of the artwork team. Delivers customer demonstrations. Participates in client meetings. May be required to participate in the implementation of new business. Contacts - Interacts across teams with multiple disciplines at all levels, collaborating on projects, making recommendations to influence change, giving guidance using their knowledge and expertise. External client interaction in support of our Client Service team. Level of Responsibility - Is expected to work autonomously. Has no direct reports however informally supports others. Decision-Making Authority -Makes recommendations on process, performance and business improvements. Physical and Sensory Demands:Extensive DSE (Display Screen Equipment) use. Extensive periods of concentration, colour accuracy and attention to detail. Prolonged periods of sitting with opportunity to take breaks when required. Excellent colour vision. Working Environment - Office working environment. Some requirement for flexibility in hours to meet our client and business needs.
This is a hybrid position, ideal candidates are located near the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We'd love to hear from you if:
Experience in packaging artwork production. Use of software applications used in artwork packaging production such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office. Detailed understanding of print processes and reprographics application. Ability to adapt images to different components / sizes in keeping with design intent. Ability to visually inspect two samples and understand what retouching/corrections are needed to get the closest possible match. Communication skills particularly listening, verbal and written. Ability to build relationships at all levels. Team working skills. Ability to plan, priorities and organize. Time Management skills to respond to a dynamic work environment. Coaching skills. Proactive problem solving. Minimum of 5 years experience within the packaging artwork production industry, with knowledge of flexo retouching.
This is a progression position and could be a level I, II or Senior. Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate's experience and education, and current business needs. Compensation: The annual base salary for this position is $50,000 - $79,000. A higher base salary may be available depending upon experience and qualifications.
