Essential Job Duties
Primary purposes of this position include but are not limited to:
Job Duties:

  • Assisting the Facilities Coordinator with classroom and event setups, ensuring that rooms are arranged according to specifications.
  • Emptying trash bins regularly and carrying out trash to designated disposal areas.
  • Performing random facilities-oriented tasks as assigned, which may include minor repairs, moving furniture, or organizing supplies.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Friday Center building.
  • Ensuring the building remains safe by adhering to safety protocols and conducting routine checks of facilities equipment.
  • Providing support during events by responding promptly to any facility-related needs that arise.
  • Collaborating with other team members to keep the facility in excellent condition, ready for use by staff and visitors.


This role is key in maintaining the day-to-day functionality and appearance of the building, contributing to a positive experience for all who utilize the Friday Center.

Work Schedule Full time, 40 hours per week (at UNC)

Minimum Experience/Education
College diploma or equivalent. Experience working with k-12 student population.
Department Required Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, including cleaning and minor repair tasks.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions for event and classroom setups.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Previous experience in a facilities or maintenance role is preferred but not required.
