Industrial Hygiene/Safety Internship Summer 2025

As an intern, you will support the Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality organization. Your role will involve Industrial Hygiene and/or Safety projects within the realms of Construction, Facilities & Site Services, and/or Research & Development. Your responsibilities will include engaging in fact-finding, conducting fieldwork, preparing reports, and performing database entries. You may also work on projects that involve air and noise monitoring, SDS/chemical inventory data entry, fall protection equipment assessments, ventilation assessments, facility chemical limit evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and other duties related to identifying occupational hazards and evaluating the effectiveness of control measures. This team works a 9x80 schedule, and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus with the occasional travel to the site,45 miles west of town.

Minimum Requirements:

• Enrolled full time student status at an accredited college or university: Undergraduate or Master's degree student
• Seeking or earned degree in: Industrial Hygiene; Occupational Health and Safety; ABET-accredited
• Minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

• Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
• Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
• PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
• Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
• Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
