Registered Nurse Surgical/Oncology Unit Full Time 80800BR Job Summary Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Complex wound care, ostomy care and tracheotomy care make patient education a priority for both the patients and their caregivers after discharge. Multiple opportunities exist for nurses to coordinate innovative treatment modalities for the oncology patient population on this unit. Nurses work in an area where a dynamic, interdisciplinary, supportive and healing approach is the focus. This unit provides the opportunity to work in a cutting edge environment were excellent care can be provided in a patient and family focused setting. Chemotherapy certification is available and is required for the staff who administer chemotherapy. Required Qualifications
