A Brief Overview

This position is responsible for analyzing healthcare data to support population health management initiatives. The role involves developing strategies to improve patient health outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing the overall quality of care as defined in the Accountable Care Organization and Value-Based contracts. The Sr. Data and Reporting Analyst plays a crucial role in identifying trends, creating predictive and prescriptive models, statistically analyzing various interventions, and generating actionable insights to guide strategic value-based decisions. This role advises Junior-level analytical staff development and leads the communication of technical development to Sr. Leadership.

What You Will Do



  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • o Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and analytical insights related to population health management.

    o Utilize advanced statistical methods and data visualization techniques to interpret and display healthcare data effectively.

    o Apply advanced analytical techniques to predict and model patient outcomes, utilization, and cost patterns.

  • Population Health Management:
  • o Assist and lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of population health management initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.

    o Identify at-risk patient populations and develop nuanced strategies to proactively address their preventive healthcare needs.

    o Collaborate with healthcare providers, Sr. Leaders, and other stakeholders to implement evidence-based interventions and assist in interpretation of results.

  • Quality Improvement Initiatives:
  • o Provide thought leadership and guidance to clinical staff in implementing and reporting on various quality improvement interventions.

    o Assess quality metrics and develop strategies to analyze and enhance the quality of care provided and reported.

    o Monitor and evaluate the accuracy, precision, and effectiveness of existing quality improvement initiatives and make analytical adjustments as required.

  • Collaboration and Communication of analytical strategies relative to payor relationships:
  • o Maintain strong relationships with internal IT developers, external account reps, and external analysts to strategically drive value-based analytic initiatives.

    o Generate routine supplemental data deliverables to payor partners and evaluate various IT strategies to submit data to payors and verify their ingestion and accurate accreditation.

    o Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate payor-reported quality, internally reported quality, and ensure collective understanding of data interpretation.

    o Serve as subject matter expert on population health analytics to guide and support internal development.

    o Communicate complex analytical findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Technology Utilization & Continuous Improvement:
  • o Assess, utilize, and promote innovative population health management tools, the EHR, and various software applications to succeed in value-based strategies.

    o Mentor, guide, and identify opportunities for Jr. team-members and adjacent colleagues to successfully deliver data and analytics to service UH's value-based strategies.

    o Stay abreast to industry trends and best practices in population health management while continuously refining enhancements to existing data infrastructure to support population health analytics.
