Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6) Department/Organization: 750404 - AL Mobility & Power Research Center Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Event Coordinator oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc. Additional Department Summary: The Alabama Mobility and Power (AMP) Center, a pioneering public-private partnership between The University of Alabama, Alabama Power Company, and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., is on a mission to drive research and workforce development for the expanding electric vehicle market. As a premier regional research and development hub, the AMP Center focuses on advancing battery technologies, developing charging infrastructure, and managing power delivery to support large-scale electric vehicle growth. Through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge research, the AMP Center is poised to lead the charge in the future of sustainable mobility. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions Skills and Knowledge: Proven track record of successfully supporting digital marketing campaigns and organizing events. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, SEO, PPC, and content management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a start-up environment. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some digital marketing experience.
