Postdoctoral Research Associate - Electrical & Computer Engineering

General Summary of Position:

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts Lowell. The successful applicant will conduct medical image analysis using deep learning approaches in the Imaging and Informatics Lab and assist the immediate supervisor with writing scholarly articles and proposals. Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education:



  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field


Experience:



  • Doctoral degree obtained from a qualified university in the field of study
  • Good track record of research and publications


Skills:



  • Strong background of medical image analysis
  • Strong background of machine learning and deep learning
  • Experiences in algorithm development/implementation


Additional Considerations:



  • Minimum number of 2 peer-reviewed papers in the field
  • Ability to work independently, with limited direction, as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to mentor and inspire students with limited research experience

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position.

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment will be for one-year with a possibility of renewal based on the productivity and performance and the availability of funding.
