Summary of Job Duties:*This position reports to the Dean of General Education and is a 12-month faculty appointment. This position may also be eligible for overload during the fall, spring, and summer terms.
*This position is responsible for on-ground, hybrid, and online instruction (9 credit hour load for Fall and Spring semesters, 9 credit hour load for the combined Summer Semesters). Specific course assignments are determined based on instructor credentials, availability, and course needs.
*This position will serve as the Coordinator for Education Programs and is responsible leading the efforts of the institution's education programs to ensure coordination with relevant stakeholders including early childhood centers, school districts, higher education institutions, and local, regional, and statewide partners.
*This position will work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and the community, and teaching across academic programs as appropriate.
*Applicant must be committed to supporting community college teaching and student success. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
oassessment of student learning
outilization of the college's ERP System (Workday) and learning management system (Blackboard Ultra) and other instructional technology
ocompletion of required general and program specific faculty duties
ocollaboration across departments and divisions to ensure retention and completion efforts
oactive engagement on shared governance committees and faculty senate
oengage with students regularly in both curricular and co-curricular settings
oengage with the communities and industries partners throughout the UACCB service area
oother duties as assigned Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, human development/family studies, early childhood special education or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university OR An equivalency of a Master's degree or higher in in any discipline with at least 18 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, human development/family studies, early childhood special education or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Must hold a current Arkansas Department of Education elementary, mid-level, or Birth-Pre-K license.
  • A minimum of 3 years successful pre-K-12 teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to effective teacher preparation for Early Childhood and K12 Education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize technology effectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of the Arkansas Child Development and Early Learning Standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum of 1-year successful instruction via distance delivery.
  • Teaching experience in higher education, specifically in the two-year college setting
  • Registration in the Arkansas Professional Development Registry (PDR)

Additional Information:

  • Position is a full-time, 12-month appointment period
  • Position is not eligible for remote, and will office on the UACCB campus

Salary Information:

$57,000-$60,000
