#CA-DS Independently and with general supervision, follows current established department procedures and guidelines for performing payroll/personnel record keeping functions and meets UCPATH/UCOP deadlines. Applies expert level knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, policies and procedures, and applicable governance. Working with attention to detail and independent analysis to ensure accurate and timely pay for over 16,000 School of Medicine, Primary Care Network, and Hospital employees: via 26 biweekly pay cycles and 12 monthly pay cycles. Evaluate, analyze, and administer one time payments including, lump sum and z payments, initiate off cycle and final pay requests. Reviews Time and Attendance reports via UCPath & EcoTime for timesheet completeness, accuracy and compliance. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Responsible for analyzing for accuracy then submitting corrections to pay and allocation of payroll expense in the general ledger. Provides analysis, reconciliations, and troubleshooting for payroll related matters, customer service and training. Must have intermediate to advanced systems skills to multiple platforms including windows-based, customized applications, PeopleSoft ERP and others as required. Works as a team member by showing initiative, cooperation and appropriate escalation of issues by using clear, direct, and timely communication internally and in partnership with other departments. Displays flexibility in adapting to new routines and modifications of work assignments and schedule to meet operational needs. Shares information with coworkers to enable Payroll to respond to departmental needs. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned. May be asked to work outside of traditional office hours to meet deadlines and based on business needs. Department Overview UCDH Finance Systems Services and Payroll Operations facilitates the timely and accurate disbursement of approved employee compensation, satisfying payroll-related employer obligations and ensuring appropriate accounting for Health compensation costs. Ensures requests for Payroll and Personnel actions contain all necessary information and approvals and comply regulatory requirements, internal controls, collective bargaining agreements, and with policy. Supporting core UC Davis Health financial and reporting systems, we prepare and monitor financial job production schedules to ensure accurate and effective data administration and manage security procedures for access to the financial recording and reporting systems. The department serves as a liaison among the Finance department under the Chief Financial Officer, Innovation Technology, Human Resources, and outside vendors on system technology matters, which include onboarding new applications, development or modifications to existing systems, creation and deployment of Business Intelligence data, reporting, and dashboards. And, providing functional support, including any reporting needs, to Accounts Payable, Budget and Planning, General Accounting, Grants & Contracts, Payroll, and any other UC Davis Health user. When new projects or modifications to existing processes are prioritized within the UC Davis Health organization, the department works to evaluate, analyze, prioritize work including developing requirements, test, and smooth implementations. Ensuring systems stability, the department also assists UCD Health staff and students in meeting their operational needs by providing the highest quality services to the organization. Systems supported include: Ecotime time and attendance, Lawson ERP and General Ledger including integrations from boundary applications: Oracle (UCD Campus ERP and General Ledger), PeopleSoft (UCPath), Epic, EPSi, Salesforce (Aggie Service); Oracle/SQL database, and PowerBI generated dashboards and indicators.
